2024 Year in Review: A Year of Growth, Impact, and Hope
As we close the chapter on 2024, we feel compelled to reflect and celebrate the extraordinary milestones that were reached this year!
ALL 2024 OBJECTIVES MET
Acquire a home - CHECK!
Submit DHS state licensing - CHECK!
Educate 1,000 adults and youth on exploitation prevention - CHECK!
Raise $400,000 - CHECK!
This was truly an unprecedented year in our history, and all of this was made possible by the outpouring of generosity we received from our community of supporters that included our founder’s club, churches, businesses, foundations, and hundreds of individuals who joined together to make this happen. We want to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming support we received from our growing community of advocates who care deeply about helping young victims of trafficking break the bondage of their unimaginable circumstances.
Victims of human trafficking have no voice and no hope for a way out of their situation. It is my constant prayer that they are staying safe and will soon experience the love and peace that surrounds them at Corrie’s House.
HOME RENOVATIONS COMPLETED
In addition to accomplishing our four major objectives, we were also fortunate to complete 100% of the necessary renovations to our home. These were made possible by multiple local businesses who donated their time, materials, talents and financial resources. The house is now functionally equipped with six private bedrooms, a therapy room, staff office, and education room. The walls are painted with specially selected colors to provide calming spaces . New commercial grade carpet and a custom built pantry were also added to accommodate youth and staff needs.
HOME FURNISHINGS NEARLY COMPLETE
With the help of multiple compassionate and creative local interior designers, we’re almost fully furnished. They’ve done an exceptional job of creating a tranquil and beautiful space to foster healing and empowerment. All of the furnishings were fully donated by these designers and their personal networks. It is nothing short of remarkable! This team has also created a Target Wish List for Corrie’s House. There are still items needed to get across the finish line. We’d welcome it if you would share this link for the Target wish list with friends and family who might want to help! We’re almost there! All items are being delivered to a local warehouse and then delivered to Corrie’s House. It’s an easy way to make an impact!
BOARD EXPANSION
We doubled our board of directors from five to ten members. We have a truly exceptional team who are very passionate about our mission. We’re incredibly blessed for each and every one of them and for the passion and diverse talent and experience that they each bring.
VOLUNTEERS STRONGER THAN EVER
We were moved by the number of volunteers who raised their hands this year to help in multiple areas of gardening, cleaning, stewardship, gala committee, prayer team, snow removal, house maintenance, and supporting our educational events. There will be even more opportunities to get involved as we move closer to opening our doors. Please reach out through this link if you or someone you know may be interested to join this group of amazing human beings! You’ll be hearing about more opportunities in the coming months.
OUR COMMITTED TEAM
We are small, but goodness, we are mighty! Every person on our team is deeply committed to bringing restoration to survivors. Hard work, passion, perseverance, and persistence have been the driving force behind everything that was accomplished this year. Having such a supportive community truly inspires us daily and reminds us why this work matters!
Looking Ahead
As we step into 2025, our main objective is to open the doors and begin serving youth! We’ve begun working with the county for their certification and for a funding contract. We’ll also begin hiring and training the staff who will work within the residential program. There is still work to do, but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel! We remain steadfast to our vision where every survivor has access to transformative care that empowers them for a life that is free from exploitation. The accomplishments of 2024 have laid a strong foundation toward this goal. We are deeply grateful for every person who has contributed to this journey, and we look forward to continuing this vital work together.
Thank you for standing with us and for believing in the transformative care we will soon bring to survivors. Stay tuned as well continue to update you on these final steps. Together, we are changing lives - one step, one youth, one dream at a time.
