A Significant Milestone: Our Programming Application is Submitted!

Another Milestone Ahieved: Our License Application is Submitted!

We are thrilled to announce that Corrie’s House has officially submitted our license application to the Minnesota Department of Human Services. The completion of this 800 page submission marks yet another significant milestone that brings us ever closer to opening our doors to provide transformative care for young survivors of sex trafficking.

What Happens Next?

After submitting our license application, the state will begin a thorough review process. This review ensures that our program meets all the necessary standards and regulations to provide the highest quality of care. The state will assess various aspects of our program, including:

  • Safety Protocols: Ensuring that our group residential facility is a safe and secure environment for our participants.

  • Trauma-Informed Care: Reviewing our approach to providing care that acknowledges the profound impact of trauma and integrates this understanding into all aspects of our program.

  • Supportive Services: Understanding the supportive services we’ll provide our youth participants to include individual and group therapy, case management, educational advancement, life skills building, employment readiness

  • Staff Qualifications: Evaluating the training, experience, and qualifications of our team to ensure they are equipped to provide the specialized care our participants need.

  • Program Structure: Assessing our programming, including individual and group therapy, education, life skills training, and more, to ensure it aligns with best practices for supporting survivors of exploitation.

The review process is thorough, and it requires several months of review. It is a collaborative process, and we’re encouraged by our initial conversations with DHS. They recognize the need for our services, and they’ve been very encouraging. We’re confident that our program is designed to meet all the necessary criteria. We’ve worked closely with other Minnesota licensed Safe Harbor programs to model best practices using data driven approaches in order to deliver exceptional care to the youth we serve.

How You Can Help

As we await approval, there is still much work to complete the necessary renovations and to equip the home with furnishings and supplies that will transform our house into a welcoming and nurturing home. We must also raise significant funding to support the extensive staff who will provide the comprehensive services needed to support the youth participants. There are many ways you can support Corrie’s House in this effort::

Be an Advocate: Help create awareness of the growing crime of child trafficking to help prevent it and to build support for supportive services.

Attend our October 9th HIDDEN TRUTHS educational event. Bring your friends and family to hear from our expert panel on how our youths are being exploited and trafficked in our backyard. Learn how to recognize the signs and help prevent it. Knowledge is the key to prevention. More info here!

Donate: Financial support is critical to our ability to meet essential needs like food, clothing, hygiene care, transportation, and other basic needs. It is also necessary in order to provide the specialized care needed to include therapy, life skills building, educational advancement, case management, and job skills training. While we’ll have access to federal, state, and local funding sources, we’ll also require community funding to fill the gaps. We greatly appreciate your support for this important work. Donate Here!

Attend our HOMECOMING Gala: Please join our 4th Annual gala on Sunday, November 10th at the Radisson Blu Hotel at MOA. It’s our largest fundraiser of the year. We’ll have much to celebrate this year and much more to look forward to next year. More info here!

Volunteer: Our opportunities and needs for volunteers are growing by the day.  If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to us here!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey so far. Your belief in our mission has brought us to this pivotal moment, and we are filled with gratitude and hope as we move forward. Together, we are creating a future where every young person can thrive, free from exploitation and full of possibilities.
