A Conversation with Program Director Jodi Bond
As Corrie’s House steps into this new chapter, we sat down with our Program Director, Jodi, to reflect on what it’s been like to officially open our doors and begin serving youth.
“It has been both a profound responsibility and an incredible honor.”
Launching this program has meant more than opening a home; it has been about creating a space for healing, restoration, and hope. From the very beginning, the focus has been on building a culture rooted in safety, dignity, and a deep belief in each young person’s potential.
Now Serving Youth
“We’re being intentional in how we grow so each youth receives the care and attention they deserve.”
Corrie’s House is officially open and actively serving youth in a safe, structured, home-like environment. Our first two months have been focused on intentional growth to ensure each participant stabilizes and receives individualized care while the team continues to strengthen relationships, routines, and support systems.
Each young person is supported through a personalized plan that may include therapy, education, life skills, job skills, housing goals, and connection to community resources, all designed to meet them where they are.
A Season of Firsts
The early days have been both humbling and meaningful. While there have been challenges that come with launching something new, there have also been powerful moments of resilience.
“We’re watching trust begin to build, staff grow in confidence, and a culture of safety take root.”
The Power of Small Victories
Some of the most meaningful progress may seem small at the surface, however, they are anything but.
A full night of sleep.
Showing up for school.
Engaging in conversation.
Asking for help.
Learning to regulate emotion
Agreeing to therapy
Participating in Life Skills Workshops
Singing karaoke together
“These moments represent tremendous courage,” Jodi shared. “When a young person begins to let their guard down—even just a little—it’s extraordinary.”
What’s Been Most Surprising
While systems and structure are essential, what has stood out most is the power of consistent, caring relationships.
“The steady presence of caring staff showing up every day—that’s what truly creates change.”
Jodi also shared how deeply she’s been impacted by the resilience of the youth—who continue to show strength, humor, and a desire for connection even after significant trauma.
What a Day Looks Like
“That consistency helps create a sense of stability many of our youth have never experienced before.” Each day is built on consistency and care—morning routines, school and programming, and evenings centered around connection, life skills, and reflection.
At its core, every day is about creating an environment where healing can happen—at a pace that feels safe for each individual.
Looking Ahead
As the year unfolds, our focus remains on building upon this strong foundation to further deepen care and trust, expand programming, and continue to walk alongside each youth on their journey.
“There is so much opportunity ahead—not just for growth, but for lasting transformation.”
