Progressing Steadily, Just as It Should Be

Our progress continues!

Last month, we shared that we were 95% complete with furnishing and equipping Corrie’s House. We needed a few more supplies from our Target registry, and several of our supporters reached out to complete the list! We continue to be amazed by your generosity! Thank you!

We are turning our attention to the final stage of completing the requirements for state licensing through the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). We began this process in June of last year when we submitted our licensing application and policies and procedures.  This has been a lengthy and involved process - but with good reason - to ensure we meet the highest standards of safety and supportive services to equip the youth who will participate in our program. We’ve successfully completed the majority of requirements in the process:

  • Policies and Procedures have been fully reviewed and approved

  • Building, fire, and health inspections have been completed

  • Last step: Final inspection by Minnesota Dept of Human Services. This is scheduled for the end of April

If all goes well with our final inspection, we hope to receive our state licensing in May! This is an enormous accomplishment and one that has been in development for five years. We hope to have great news on this to share next month!

Next stop: County Certification and Per Diem Funding

State licensing is a prerequisite to receive county certification and subsequent per diem funding that helps defray expenses to care for the youth who will participate in our program.. We have already begun collaboration with Washington County, and we are progressing as planned.

Once we have clarity on the timing for our certification and per diem funding, we will begin hiring our residential program staff to include:

  • 1 Program Manager

  • 1 Program Supervisor

  • 1 Case Manager

  • 8 Youth Advocates

We would love to talk with talented and passionate advocates who have experience working with survivors or other residential programs and/or who have a degree in social work or a related area. We would also welcome the opportunity to talk with survivors with lived experience. If you know of great people, we would love to meet them!

Our goal remains the same - to begin serving youth by the end of this summer.

Thank you for standing strong with us as we navigate this journey at the right pace, ensuring a strong foundation for the work ahead!

Gratefully,

Renée
