THE FIVE W’S

Who, what, when, where and why are just a few questions many people have when hearing about Corrie’s House.

who are we?

Corrie’s House is a non-profit currently establishing the foundations to a home for girls, preparing to open in Summer 2025. <Insert Mission>
In the meantime, what are we offering now? <Service - like Resume and Career training, partnering with X org>

The home will be located in the Twin Cities area, and we’re in the fundraising stretch to secure the home in 2024 to begin the final leg of licensing.

When & Where?

Did you know that to become a licensed facility, organizations must have access to the residential home one year prior to occupancy? That’s why our mission is to access a home by June 2024, so the doors can open to these girls in 2025. We’ll be providing a home that is not foster care, filling a gap that’s glaringly absent obvious. (The gap is not absent, the housing is.)There are no(??) homes like this in MN. The home will need X,Y, Z, and our housing committee is doing _________.  Do you have a connection or a home that might fit the bill? We’d love to hear from you. Please contact _________. Where is the house? Where is it going to be?

Medical, education, career services, etc.

Corrie’s House Programming

Programming is the development of the educational curriculum and the specialized licensing needed to provide a safe space to train up residence. We’re 90% of the way complete, having finished X and Y. We’re currently undergoing Z, at which point the program will be given a real-world test at a partner organization. Highlight the two focused on it - build credibility. Will they be going to school or will they be homeschooled? What are the benchmarks already complete? What even is the programming curriculum - what does it entail? Is this schooling or is this trauma-informed care? What will therapy look like? What kind of key decisions need to be made? (Where to keep medication, who keeps the keys, etc). What’s required for licensure - how many checklist points and protocol? Are these two separate topics? Who will enact this? Circle sessions? (Can we put examples, images, link to a sample?)

What is the goal?

To fund the opening of a house, achieve final certification, and equip full-time residential staff, Corrie’s House is setting our eyes on $400,000 raised by 2024, which is the benchmark needed to launch into securing a home. We’re currently at ______, and YOU can help us get there reach our goal.

You can host events at your home <link>, attend our Gala <link>, and donate directly <link>. You have the ability to make a difference.

Who will we serve and why?

The mission of Corrie’s House is to provide a “safe space to heal” for survivors of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST). According to federal law, DMST is defined as “the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act, within domestic borders, in which the person is a US citizen or lawful permanent resident under 18 years of age.”

The average age at which a young person becomes involved in sex trafficking is 13 years old. Surprisingly, the majority of these youths are trafficked by someone who is known to them; a family member, friend, neighbor, boyfriend, or co-worker.

When these young people are removed from their traffickers, they face unique challenges on their road to restoration. Corrie’s House will provide long-term, residential aftercare and rehabilitation, specifically designed for teenage survivors of sexual exploitation. Each survivor will have access to mentorship, education, therapy, spiritual guidance, and life skills training. With relationships built on trust, in an encouraging and supportive environment, we believe our residents will be given the best chance at recovery.

Our goal at the start is to provide on-site, residential services for up to six girls. Each survivor’s situation is unique, but we aim to offer a safe and secure, Christ-centered home for them until they reach adulthood.

Currently in Minnesota, there are only __ facilities, providing __ beds and long-term care and services specifically for minor victims of sex-trafficking. We are committed to opening a home where young girls who have been sexually exploited can receive the trauma-informed care they need and be empowered to discover the productive, joy-filled lives they deserve.
